No admission to primary before six years

of age The central government has directed all states to admit only children aged 6 years or above to primary. According to the new National Education Policy, the first five years of age are the basic stage of education. which includes three years of pre-school education followed by grades I and II. At present there are 14 states in the country where children below the age of 6 can enroll in class I.
