Snow falls in Sikkim, roads blocked
Heavy snowfall in Sikkim, roads and houses are covered in thick blanket of snow. Several areas including Lachung in Sikkim were hit by snowfall. Houses in the adjoining areas are covered with a layer of snow. Roads are blocked, tourists are stranded. Initiatives have been taken by the administration to clean the roads. Besides, car drivers have been duly warned.
Tourists are happy to see the sight of snowfall again. Local residents said that several areas of Sikkim have been experiencing snowfall for quite some time. According to the sources of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in the hilly areas till Thursday. There is a possibility of rain in different districts of North Bengal not only in the hills, according to the sources of the Meteorological Department.
